this past week has been really fun!
luke got in town from LA and i have been really busy at school working on a photo project and stuff for my edible aesthetics show but it was still really fun! the yuengling tour is pretty cool (and free), its interesting to see how they make the beer. they had a really hot liquid called wort churnin and bubblin in a huge vat and sometimes itd splosh out and it was really cool. i guess wort is before its fermented into beer. it still smelled like beer though. got to meet the one and only chemist for that yuengling brewery, he was a super redneck dude that was also incredibly intelligent. i guess my dad used to do stuff for yuengling, and apparently he knew a lot of the people that were working there. i thought they seemed a lot like him!!! and, at the end you get free beer, even this one kind called Premium yuengling that is only sold in a couple of places. neat.
lots of thrifting and random adventuring and lots of food. chugged a beer with luke like 5 minutes before he had to get on his plane. good times.
also just been more relaxed lately, just doing what i want to do and meeting lots of new people. went to copper top pub last night and ran into some people i knew, including scott hoos. that was… random.
tonight is a show for my edible aesthetics class.. hoping to get at least 200 people in the door. i have 2 pieces in the show, but my baby is an 8 foot “stained glass” piece made of fruit roll-ups being slicked onto a lightbox. the image is the burger king with his hands out, in a semi-shrug position, complete with hamburgers with wings like angels. and flying cupcakes. i will post pictures! i had some helpers for it and i was the director because it was my idea, and i couldnt be happier with my team. great people and great workers. after the show i guess theres some after parties. working at 9:30 the next day= major bummer.
