This image from Taryn Simon is entitled,”Nuclear Waste Encapsulation and Storage Facility Cherenkov Radiation Hanford Site, U.S. Department of Energy Southeastern Washington State”
I saw a TED talk online where Simon talked about the process involved in capturing the images in her, “An American Index Of The Hidden And Unfamiliar”. I think they are gorgeous images of places that you and I will most likely never be granted access to.
She also did a series entitled, “The Innocents” of convicted criminals that served time but were later acquitted of all charges. Unfortunately I couldn’t find them anywhere on her website, so you will probably just have to do a Google image search to find them.
